Complaint: Hi I have for few days a malware and adware on my MacBook, a popup prompt me to call a phone number in the US (18669574919) to get technical support from the Apple Technical Service Department. I called the phone number and i got a guy over the phone who was not professional and he request a remote control on my laptop, which i gave, after a while he explained me that actually i’ve been hacked from 4 different countries: Philippines, Russia, Mexico and something else … he said he can not help me and he needs to transfer my call to the Level 5 of the Apple support. Speaking to Mr. Rick from Level 5 support, he explained me that my laptop is hacked and actually my whole network at home is hacked and i need to perform technical cleaning of my computers and all devices at home including the router. He said that this would cost me about 610$, and he said it can be done online within 45 minutes, and that the same service can be obtained from BestBy or others but it would take about 30 to 90 days. I explained him that may be it is good to contact my internet provider to ask for help, he tried to convince me that actually i am hacked through a satellite connection and my Internet Povider can not help me. I said i would rather go to an apple store and ask for support, then he offered me to provide the technical support for only $ 199, then i start doubting and i told him i will just go an buy a new laptop, then he insisted to provide me the service and he even threaten me that my laptop can crash anytime within the upcoming 5 minutes. I quickly shut down my pc to stop his remote control over my laptop and i googled the website www.support.me and his phone number and it seems they do have more victims. PLease watch out. Thank you.
