Complaint: I obtained Venator’s Contracting services to build out my Dickey’s Barbecue Pit restaurant. The only main issue that I am having and is my Complaint against Venator is that sub contractors keep coming into my restaurant and complaining that they have not been paid. I made arrangements with Venator from the beginning to make payments to pay them for their work and to pay the sub contractors. At this point I have paid them over 75% of what I owe and four contractors have complained that they have not received a single payment. The contractors were Plumbing, Freezer & Cooler, Electrical and Hood Cleaning so far. I am concerned at this point that the contractors have not been paid. If it was one or two maybe a slow pay situation. However, Venator has been paid more than enough to have made payments to most of the contractors and paid off most. Now I am not able to reach John – his voice mail is full. Makes me curious since they have always returned my calls almost immedaitely. Sent a text to David the owner and he has not responded. My finance company wants to provide the final payoff amount but they are not able to get in touch with David either. They have to have proof that the subs are being paid or else they will not extend the final payment. This does not seem right. I have requested on two occasions the list of contractors and the pay off amount but so far Venator has failed to provide me with the information. The actions of Venator at this time lead me to beleive they are being deceptive.
