Elle Auto | False advertising

This company advertises specifically to women. The idea behind this shop is that they are an honest place women can go to have their cars serviced/repaired. Most women feel they get ripped off when going to auto shops because they don’t know what they need and places over charge for unnecessary services. Apparently Elle Auto doesn’t do this according to their ads. Oh but they do! A close friend of mine took her car there and was excited about going to Elle Auto. She received a quote of $3000 and a long laundry list of things her car desperately needed. This amount of money was more than the car is worth – my friend asked at work and received referrals to other car shops who provided free quotes. All other quotes she received came in at less than $1200 for everything. She ended up getting what she needed done from a very nice shop for just under $1000. Included in Elle Auto’s quote was nearly $1000 in labor. Parts were being charged to the consumer at a 250% markup. This place is ridiculous. They should be ashamed at promoting themselves to women and then turning around and ripping them off. Do not go to Elle Auto and if you do, make sure you get a second quote from somewhere else before making a decision.
