My friend, on returning from a date that went horribly, rammed the car into the door of my garage. He had borrowed the car from me for his date and when he returned, he accidentally forgot to open the gates of the garage and therefore my Audi lost its headlight as well as its front bumper. He could not have been more apologetic about it. He requested me to accompany me to the service centre. I had no other choice than to let him join me. He did all the work – He researched the nearest service centre, read all the reviews and even scheduled a service appointment at Audi South Austin. Although it took him one week to do so, I was glad that he did all this. On the day of the appointment, both of us went to Audi South Austin with the car.
We met the mechanic and made him check our car. He took his own time to inspect the car. At one point in time, I thought that he had fallen asleep (he didn’t). After coming out from down below, he told us that one of the exhaust pipes had been damaged and that it would need to be replaced. He also informed us that the headlights would need to import as they were currently not available at his disposal. He jotted down all the estimated costs of the parts and gave us an estimate. Every part was more expensive than I thought. My friend did not hesitate and told him to fix the car as soon as possible. He paid the full amount in advance. I requested the mechanic to fix the car as carefully as he could. I was given a printed bill and was told to come back after one month. Although a month was a long period, I did not want the mechanic to hurry and make any mistake and thus, I did not tell him to prepone the delivery date. I paid them a bit extra for at-home drop-off. After this, I came back home.
After almost 40 days, when there was no call or text from their place, I called them up to get hold of the status of the repair. They told me that the headlights took some time to reach them and thus the delay. I was assured of delivery the next day. Thankfully, my car was delivered the next day at my doorstep. When I saw the bumpers, I realized that they were not the ones that we had selected. Also, the headlight’s colour was different and it looked so pathetic. I immediately called Audi South Austin and complained about the changes that had been made without any prior confirmation. All they asked was whether there was any defect or not and the moment I said no, I was replied with – “Be happy with whatever you got” and the call was cut. I was not able to contact them again.
This is what I got from Audi South Austin. If you too want to get such as messed-up repair service, go ahead and step into Audi South Austin.
