Complaint: Man with India accent called stating he was from Microsoft informing me that my computer’s security may not be secure or up todate. He would fix my computer, clean it up and get it running well. He asked me to type in an address in the computer header so he could take over my computer to work on it. Oh, Oh. Fell for this a couple of years ago and my computer never worked so badly after that. It worked okay for a while, but it slowly got worse and worse with lots of pop-up that interferred with everything I was doing. I even checked my setting to make sure my pop-up blocker was on and configured properly, but to no avail. I got tired of it and after awhile, it was so bad, I finally investigated online for ways to fix my computer myself. Months later I finally got it done w/o calling the “support”” number of Prime Importnt to repair it for a price. I initially paid the fee they requested ..about $350 or $360.
