Complaint: I am a former employee of the Papa John’s Pizza franchise in Commerce, GA. I quit about 3 months ago after an incident I will tell you about. The cheese that falls into the catch trays while they are making the pizzas is routinely put back in to the cheese pan. The cheese from the trays is often mixed with other pizza ingredients and allowed to sit out for 5 or 6 hours before it is recycled with flies and other insects landing on it. Their employees do not wear gloves while making the pizzas. This probably wouldn’t be a problem except for two little facts. #1- this franchise has been investigated and nearly shut down several times because their ovens aren’t hot enough and the pizza is not properly cooked. And #2- 90% of their employees are drug users. As in- do drugs (weed, meth, etc) on the clock in the back of the store. They also allow food to go out of date in their walk in and it is common practice for them to not catch it until its been out of date for several days (I suppose because their managers are too stoned to know the difference). One time, I was told to use mushrooms that were obviously bad (when you opened the box the stench would nearly knock you over and they had a very thick slime all over) because they were “still in date”” by the box. The owners of the store are aware of their employees on the clock drug use. I know because I complained of it over and over again. I was simply told to my face that
