Complaint: They don’t care about customers. I have been going here for years, but recently one of their wooden baskets inside was broken and had shards of wood sticking out of it. It sliced my clothing and skin as I walked by it to the cheese bar. The woman at the cheese bar saw it, took all my information, and *gave me her word* someone would contact me. Over a week passed, and no one contacted me. I called to follow up and spoke to someone who offered me a chintzy 10% off coupon that you can get for free on the website, i.e. he made it contingent that I buy more of their products to compensate me for the damage their basket did to my clothing. I explained to him that I was a regular loyal customer and that their wooden basket created a hole in my pants, and it would cost me $100 to buy a new pair but I understood that the value of what I was wearing was not new. He promised to get back to me too and never did. It is amazing to me that after shopping there for years as a local that I have had to chase them down for a response when their wooden shards were dangerous in the first place. I have still never received a response, adding insult to injury. I sincerely hope that no children are hurt there as those shards were at eye level, and when I pointed out the issue, they didn’t remove them, they just tried to tuck the shards in so that you couldn’t see them. I am sincerely disappointed at the lack of care they showed for a regular customer. It is clear to me that volume is their focus vs. long term customer relationships and taking responsibility for the damage a dangerous wooden shard caused that was their fault.
