Monica Smith Scam

My husband and I were looking to purchase ferrets in Ca. We found an add on Pet Classified. com and I later found one from her on petads.com stating that she had 2 ferrets for sale for $185.00. Her first post said that she was in SF, CA and the one I found said she was in MO. However she had to relocate to Cameroon but would ship the ferrets Duke and Bella to us by the same means she brought them to Cameroon. She required that we western Union her $185.00 US and we would get the ferrets at our closest international airport. We stupidly fell hard and sent the $$. Later she was so crafty that she sent the airline reservation information and a link email from airfrance and the airport stating that they had the ferrets but were holding them for a $200 insurance deposit that would be fully refundable when we got the ferrets. Again we stupidly fell for it before I started to smell a rat. We did not hear from her for almost a week. After I started slamming her with emails she finally emails us back telling us that she is angry at us for accusing her of scam, ect. she then tells me the ferrets are ready to be released, but the airline needs a re-booking./vaccine fee of $145 and they will be sent. At this point I had done more research and discovered that most animals from Cameroon do not even exist and are a major scam. I then located another ferret add on Pet ads, com and the picture looked just like the one I had been forwarded so I emailed her from another email address so she would not recognize me and she fell for it. Sent me the same exact email she sent my husband – copy and pasted but changed her location. I have formally requested a refund and I am sending her file to the Cameroon tribunal justice unless i get a refund. Which I know she will never send. Just do not fall for any animal sales or for that matter anything from Cameroon at all unless you have known the person and trust them. Sara and Chad Abercrombie.
