Complaint: On January 7, 2016, my three-month subscription with ended. I canceled a few days prior by selecting the cancel option on their accounts page as always. On that day I also hid my account and took down all my pictures and descriptions. (I did the latter because Match continues to show canceled profiles to current members, and I did not want that.) I have had several subscriptions with Match in the past and have never had a problem canceling my subscription this way before. On August 7, 2016 I noticed a charge of $59.97 from Match on my bank statement from July. I called only to find out it was my THIRD renewal they had billed me for, making a total of $179.91. When I called, they said I had never canceled in January and wanted an email with the confirmation to prove it. Checking the “Cancel my Membership”” option alone has always canceled my memberships before. This is how I was told to cancel from a customer service rep when I wanted to make sure I was cancelling my first subscription correctly back in 2011. It worked then
