Complaint: I had internet service with Localnet for a while and when I now longer needed that service, I called and cancelled the account. That was the end as far as I knew. I paid the remaining balance and was done with them. That was back in September. Now we have received a letter stating that the service was disconnected in November for non-payment and we owe a nice big bill. If not paid in full, there is a threat of legal action. When I called today, they claim they require a written request to cancel. I explained that I wasn’t told that on the phone so it’s not my fault if they didn’t give me that information. The representative said I still need to pay regardless. I will be disputing this fraudulent claim of money owed. I’m also going to tell everyone that has their service to cancel and go with another provider. I believe someone needs to shut them down before they rip off more people.
