Kicks Karate Gaithersburg Maryland

Complaint: They were very friendly in the beginning, calling me multiple times to try to get my kids to sign up for the karate classes. At the contract signing, everything was done on their computer. They did not print a copy for me to read in their office. They asked to put in my information, sign and don’t worry about the rest, they will take care of it. They mentioned about billing automatically every month, but mumbled over other essential details. They did not call my attention to the contract requirement of AUTOMATIC RENEWAL, they did not call my attention to the continued billing of your credit card AFTER you tell them you no longer wish to join. Everything is in small fine print in the contract which was on their computer, which I did not get to read at the time of the contract signing. They don’t give you a receipt when they bill you every month, they don’t give you a notice when you are due for automatic renewal. It all happens very quietly on your credit card bill. When I told them my kids would like to take a break from Karate for a few months, they were ademant about continuing to bill us for an additional 2 months and refused to answer other questions or return our repeated calls. This is a scam, an unethical money making machine. Don’t sign up! It is not about teaching kids. I will not take my kids back there again. There are better options elsewhere.
