I purchased a couch from this company for the design and good reviews on Yelp in March 2017, which was delivered by June. Turns out it looked great but the first time I sat down I couldn’t believe how poor the quality of the foam was. Every person who has ever sat on this couch remarked the same. It is so soft that you sit right on the wooden frame below. After two month of light use the fabric started pilling. I posted a review on Yelp in December, to which the owner of the company responded right away. Said he wanted to make it right and would sent replacement cushions with high quality foam (implying that he clearly didn’t use high end foam to begin with) but insisted on me taking down the review right away, which I did. He did not take responsibility for the poor quality of the fabric at all and blamed his supplier. Instead of not getting anything back, I agreed to receiving replacement cushions, which he promised to send within 3 weeks. He also asked me to remove the cover from the cushions and send them to him in order to guarantee a good fit on the new cushions, which I refused to do since it was a standard couch which should have standard sized cushions to begin with. He clearly expected me to sit on a couch without covers. Many emails and 9 weeks later, I received wet covers (they weren’t wrapped in plastic and the box they were shipped in had gotten wet). I sent Steve Portero, the owner, an email letting him know how upset I was upon receiving the covers and NOT the promised cushions. He responded with ‘I’m done with this shit, you asshole’. I told him that I would write another review on Yelp to warn people about his product and his conduct. He then wrote ‘You slander me and I’ll follow up with my take on this all over the internet too’ and threatened to take legal action. Meanwhile, I’m just giving an honest review on a product of subpar quality and the unprofessional conduct of the business owner. He must then have taken the effort to read through some of the countless emails and realized that he indeed promised to send replacement cushions and that the word cushions was mentioned in at least 9 of these emails. He apologized and offered to send me the replacement cushions after all, but not without complaining about all the money he is losing. I told him that as this point in time I would only accept a replacement couch with a different fabric as replacing the pillows with the lousy pilling fabric that keeps deteriorating won’t do me any good. He refused and keeps sending me nasty emails. I have the email thread and photos to back up my statement which I would be happy to forward if need be. WORST PURCHASE OF MY LIFE! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
