On the outside, it sounds like a good idea-Contact Dave Ramsey so he can tell you which real estate “Endorsed Local Provider” you should use. But what you don’t know is that every real estate ELP is paying a 28% referral fee to Dave Ramsey and his Lampo Group. This is not disclosed to buyers or sellers. You are told you will receive “pre-qualified” leads for serious buyers or sellers who want to use the services of a Realtor. Instead, you receive simple website inquiries from his website. Many of the leads are curious would be buyers and sellers. Some are serious. As an ELP, you are required to contact every lead you get at least 3 times the first day, and then twice daily for the first 3 weeks UNTIL you get a response. Talk about stalking. You are also required to use thier “Training Program”, which, incidentally is not free but will cost ou $500.00 per month for a 6 month commitment. | The last straw for me was when the Group contacted me and “Requested” that I buy a case of books by Chris Hogan, Dave’s newest expert on Retirement Planning. I was told the Dave wanted Chris to hit the NY Times Best Seller List and that if all Dave’s ELP’SS bought a case of books, this would happen quickly. I found this approach to be dishonest. Needless to say, if you wnt to find a good real estate professional, don’t rely on some guy in Tennessee who has figured out how to milk a fee from hardworking agents.
