Crossings: The Book Club for Today’s Christian Family – Account…

Today in the mail I received a bill in the amount of $79.28, and the headline reads "YOUR PURCHASE COMMITMENT STILL STANDS!" It states that they reminded me recently that my club commitment has expired, and that I am now being billed $79.28 for the selections I agreed to buy when I joined the Club. It also says that I have been reported to "Alliant, a consumer reporting agency." Here’s the thing: I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS COMPANY IN MY LIFE, NOR HAVE I EVER AGREED TO JOIN A BOOK CLUB. Also, I am an atheist (not that it matters). I called customer service to ask for details on my account, and she said that it sounds like my account had been set up through a 3rd party…aka fraud. When I began to ask her why I had never received any other information about the club, she interrupted me over and over and over, until I raised my voice and told her she has terrible customer service skills, and that she needs to pipe down and listen to her "customer." I told her to cancel my account immediately, and then laid into her about how horrible her company is for doing something like this, and that she should be ashamed of herself and her "Christian" Book Club for ripping people off like this. She told me to have a nice day and hung up, without verifying the cancelling of my account. THIS COMPANY IS A PIECE OF SH*T
