25+ years ago my husband purchased me a 4 carat Ruby engagement ring. I wore this ring everyday 24/7 for over 20 years. In 2011 I brought it to Criterion Diamonds because the ruby was getting a little loose. They repaired it for me. I wore it once again 24/7 until June 2015 when once again the ruby got loose again. I brought it back to Criterion and they suggested that I have them rebuild the setting of my ring so that it would be stronger. I agreed and paid $140 (which included a slight repair on a bracelet). When I got home with my new/improved engagement ring my husband suggested that I only wear it when I went out. I agreed. I wore it three times since July when I picked it up. On the third time I happened to look down and realized I was wearing an empty setting, my Ruby was gone. I went into Criterion today to complain and showed the Lady my ring. She could only repeat four different times that ‘I’ must have gotten the ring snagged on something and it was my fault the ruby fell out. My fault. I wore this ring for over 20 years and I know darn well I snagged it over and over but the ruby never fell out! But after they ‘rebuild’ the setting to make it stronger, on the third wearing I loose my 4 carat ruby and all she can keep saying is that ‘You must have snagged it on something’. NO “we are sorry” NO let’s make it better NO NOTHING, just blaming me. I WILL NEVER AGAIN GIVE CRITERION DIAMONDS ONE DIME OF BUSINESS AND PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK.
