Complaint: This company has a real scummy way of doing business. You go to their website and create a profile to check out the content. They say they need to link a card to get a free 7 days. The courses I looked at were crap, so I wasn’t interested in paying $50 per month for it. A few days later I get notified that they charged my credit card for a subscription. They didn’t give me any notice ahead of time. It is a really nasty way of doing business. Their business model isn’t to try and sign up people that want their services. They probably get a significant amount of income from people who sign up for a free trial and then forget to cancel before the trial is over. Why don’t they focus on the studentst that enjoy their service instead of playing the “gotcha”” game with people who don’t. It would probably take someone 10 minutes to make a program to remind people that their free trial is about to end so people can decide if they legitamately want to pay for the Coursera experience. Instead of that they write some BS terms of service and sit back and hope you forget about their crappy rules so they can screw you out of $50. I really hate businesses like this. Their website doesn’t even let you contact them to dispute the charge. They just weasel their way out. This is a business thats prey on people making a mistake and forgetingt to cancel. Is this the best way to run a program? Is this someone that has the customer’s best interest in mind? I hope you enjoy the $50 because I will get my money’s worth through negative reviews about your scummy business practices. Businesses like this really make me sick.”
