I met Shep as we called him way back in Ol’ Miss days and haven’t seen him in a while. You’d think someone you grew up with and knew so well wouldn’t lie to your face and steal from you. It hurts so much. | I brought in an old junker car we had rusting way in back of our barn and we needed the money since Jimmy lost his job. I brought it in to get recycled and I was suprised to see Shep as we pulled in to the lot. Shep was in the yard and looked up. I remember how handsome he was back in school and had this way about him and then something seemed to change just after school. Thinking back he was always a little different. | Anyways Shep said hed pull the junker on the scale and I could wait inside cause it was a little cold so I went in. I wasn’t expecting much but Shep came in and said they could only give us $70 for scrap. I thought we’d get maybe 150 or 200 but no. Kids had to eat so what else can you do. I looked at the tickete on the way out and saw the weight and just happend to see the car as they pulled it off the scale. I could only see the hand and it was a good 250 pounds off what the ticket said. | I went into ask Shep what the deal was but he said that was right and that’s all they could give us. I had to feed the kids so okay. | I can’t sleep tonight thinking about it. Shep hurt me and used me. Our history meant nothing I guess and he can just disgard people now or something but to stoop so low to hurt someone you’re supposed to care about like that is just inhuman. What kind of world are we living in today? | Just don’t go there to recycle your goods…Shep will do everything but screw you while you’re in his face and right when you turn your back he’ll get you.
