Coral Springs Medical Center Review

Folks Read Before You Sign, You May Be Signing Your Life Away If You Don’t. This is a personal account of an experience that took place as a new patient with Coral Springs Medical Center on April 25, 2016. The user name that is being used with this post, is not the name used as the patient with the hospital on this day. The purpose of this post, is to warn fellow patience, and future patience at this hospital.. On Sunday, April 24, 2016. I went into the hospital as a out patient for a procedure in radiation. Prior to the procedure, I of course needed to go through registration prior to my treatment. When I went through registration, I was abruptly being pushed through to sign some papers, without reading first what I had to | sign. Well, the representative who we will use a fictitious abbreviation for her name, TK. which may or may not be the abbreviation for the representative who assisted on this very day was very perturbed with me, because I was not signing all the documents without reading all of it. I did not care how rolling her eyes, and letting out a physical almost grunt like, ” I just know your not going to read all these documents”, yes, I was going to read approximately all 7 documents, no matter her issues with it, and if there was something as I read all documents that l had problems with signing, I would not sign. the documents. take my time to read all the 7 documents first prior to signing them. As I was reading the | documents there were about three different paragraphs throughout all the pages that I did not feel comfortable in signing. For instance, One that all doctors at the hospital are not employees with the hospital , they are independent contractors. which means, that if a doctor does any type of surgery on you, the hospital cannot be sued. So by signing this document, you agree to take full responsibility for errors that If they should occur to you, while at the hospital. The hospital has no legal baring to you, and by signing this particular paragraph you agree to that. I was of course hesitant in signing that part, so I asked TK if I chose not to sign that portion, would I still be able to be seen at the hospital for my procedure. I | then asked to speak with a supervisor, a lady who will will use the initial B which may or may not be the initial of the supervisor who assisted on this day, but will be using it, for conversational purposes of this event. The supervisor B came to speak with me. I told her that I did not want to sign a part of the document, would I still be able to be seen for my treatment, without signing this part of the document” The response from Supervisor “B” ” No sir you would not be able to be seen by this hospital today” she then proceeded to walk back to her area. As she proceeded to walk back to her area, I continued to read the document, and came across a paragraph which I read out loud so supervisor “B” could here which | stated as such. ” I understand that I may refuse to sign this consent and such refusal will not prohibit me from receiving treatment”. As I read this paragraph. Supervisor “B” walked right back to try to speak with me concerning this paragraph I just read. Before she could get a word out, “I said ma’am. I think you have said enough to me today, I’m not interested in what you have to say.” All the documents, that I was black mailed to sign, or not treatment, would take a special kind of person to understand the scribble if wrote in replacement of having to sign my actual name. After I was given all forms to be seen that day, I wished everyone a nice day, and left to my appointment at another part of the building. Here is the | point of this story, and it is basic information your given when your in the 10 grade which is so basic. “Don’t sign documents you don’t feel comfortable in signing” “Read all that your required to sign, because it just may save your life” and most important” Who ever is giving you wrong information, and is representative of a business. “Hold them accountable”
