Complaint: My husband and I met with a sales representative from Colorado Prime, who came with a sample of the meat products that would be delivered to our home, if we agreed to the conditions of the contract. He explained that we would receive 8 months worth of food, and that he would contact us once we received the food and the freezer that the food must be stored in because the freezer was better than most. He also indicated that we may even get a free grill if we sign the contract that day and provided him with a referral of 10 family members or friends and if he got another sale. Which we did. I told him we could not afford the program, he then presented us with another contract, than another. Thinking that one cancelled the other, we signed. A month and a half later, we had to go out of town for a funeral, we finally received our first shipment. I immediately atttemped to contact my sales rep. He would not return my call, we then received the grill, and again, we contacted the company. I told them that I would not pay until I received a phone call. I finally got a call, and was told it was too late for a refund. I told them that I expected 8 months worth of food, they said it was only to be so many servings, and if we got conned, it is not their probably. I then begin to pay the 999.00, but I noticed my bill was not decreasing. They never even deducted the 600.00 I paid. At this point, I have stopped paying. Now their collections agency is contacting us, the bill that was initially 999.00, is now $5,200.00 – UNBELIEVEABLE. Now it is the principal of the matter. I agreed to the 999.00, i will pay in full, but I will file bankruptcy before I pay them 5200.00 for a $300.00 Freezer and a 500.00 grill, which I did not order or agree to, and attempted to return, several times. My sales rep disappeared off the face of the earth. Colorado Prime will not talk to me, and the collection agency says that its not their problem. I am going to take them to court – i just don’t know how. Thank God for this site. I am so glad to know that I am not the only one that was swindled, but at the same time, I am embarrassed that we all fell for it. I hope someone can help me get this off my credit. My credit is excellent, except for this one item, and I will not pay another dime to this company until they reduce the amount owed, and the amounts that I already paid has not even been deducted from the bill.
