City Of Long Beach Review

Is it just me, or is it normal for a utility company to charge over 5x the amount of a typical gas bill for a security deposit. I never had service with the City of Long Beach, but I was charged $215 security deposit for a gas utility in which I have never even had service with them. The bill typically averages $41 per month. I asked when do I get the deposit back and the representative said “Never, unless you move outside of Long Beach” They also charge a $3.75 fee to pay your bill on line or use your debit cards. I have never seen a compay due this before let alone a utility company owned by a city and I work for a bank. Ironic. It seems that this city is all about creating revenue in any way they can. Harsh!
