Checkmatefitness.com charge our bank account $19.00 which is their monthly subscription fee. Our bank verified that someone used our Bank account info (printed on every check we ever used to pay a utility etc.) to make this charge. The E Check info CM Fitnes requires is only account # and routing # and physical address, all very easy to find on checks. Then they claim to deiver instructions to one’s email on how to use this phony subscription. Which of course we never got becuase we did not sign up for this. I called the 877 number, talked to a man who claimed he will refund us and block our account from ever being charged again. I c=have a confirmation but I have no idea how good it is. I tried calling back just to double check something and now they will NOT answer the phone. I’m sure they can see my # calling, most call centers can do that. Plus, when i repeatedly called 10 times ina row (getting voicemail) i got a mysterious message froma Montreal, Quebec phone number simply saying “I’m in a meeting” i asked by text i this was a rep. of checkmatefitness.com and several other questions but got no reply. Phone number was 1-438-833-1761 but maybe it’s a burner.I reported this company to the FTC and FBI internet crime ompaint department. We’ll see if anything happens. There was a legitimate charge made to a company called Random Nerd Tutorials on the same day as the Checkmatefitness.com purchase. Maybe be a connection, maybe not. Just thought i would mention it in case anyone else had the same experience. Had i known all of this before i called i would have just called them as a customer and tried to find out “what email i entered” so i could trace who actually did this. oh well, maybe if you are reading this you can do the same and get better results.
