Century Link North Carolina Cumberland County North Carolina

Complaint: I had been a customer of Sprint then Century Link for over 15 years and had DSL with them. The internet had become unreliable but I put up with it because I felt the price was fair. This year they promised me faster internet speeds at the same price, so I agreed to it and scheduled the service call. Then they called and said they could not do what they promised. The next bill my monthly charge had increased. I called and they agreed to set it to where it was. The next month, they had messed up the billing so badly they overcharged me again. I had to take time out of the workday to call these people to get it straight. Granted it was a small amount-a little more than $10. This continued for 2 more months-for 4 months. Since I work and calling them monthly and spending 15-30 minutes on the phone is not the best use of my time, calling them was not a priority and I missed a bill due date-it was a few days ate, not unpaid. They charged me $14 for a late fee. I happened to get an offer from TWC for faster internet at a better rate so I switched. Then when I called CL wanted to do what they could for a long term customer but it was too late. In my conversation with the last person I talked to, they claimed they did not have a record of all my calls to them.
