Associates in Gastroenterology – Manassas Virginia

Associates in Gastroenterology Unethical Billing / Lied to our face Manassas Virginia!!

My wife has been having problems with her GI Track so we got a referral to go to Associates in Gastroenterology. After the first appointment, she was ordered a procedure. The front desk staff got a pre-approval from the insurance company and told us we would only have to pay $250 as our payment for the procedure. My wife had the procedure and all was well… Until 1 month later when the bills (notice the plural use) arrived. First of all, they never sent them to our correct address so we never got them and strangers now have my wife’s personal information.. So much for HIPAA. What struck me as odd was that we received 4 bills from 4 companies. 3 of which we had never heard of. So I called the office and think their staff tripped off of her script and told me that AGI has 4 company entities inside of one and each bills separately. Essentially she explained that they have to get 4 pre-approvals before a procedure but only gave us one amount. That $250 is now around $1000 and I’m working with the BBB and Attorney General to prevent having to pay what I was never told of and attempt to remain in good financial standing. This practice is why American medicine is a joke. They don’t help people, they’re profit centers. Avoid at all costs.
