American Readers’ Choice

I was called because they wanted to know if I want to cancel my automatic renewal of my account. Since I subscribe to several magazines I thought this was a legitimate request. After going though motions of “canceling” my auto renew I was forwarded to a “supervisor” who told me she would ask me a series of questions that I needed to respond yes to then when she said she was at the last question she wanted me to say no to the request to automatically renew. She then wanted to verify my card they had on file and stupidly I gave it to her and she said thank you that’s it. Halfway through the yes questions she said the cost was 59.90 per month which I know I never paid that on a monthly basis so I said hold on a minute I thought you said I already had this service. She kept saying I made a verbal agreement to it long ago. I now know this was a scam and I told her I did not want 59.90 taken out of my account for 30 months as she said was the agreed upon amount. I told her I didn’t want this service and she kept saying I am not going to get the automatic cancellation of the renewal. I am in the process of cancelling the card and stopping payment of the 59.90 which ironically was already sent to my bank and is in progress.. I demand refund and cancellation. I don’t recommend them
